Hi-Store works with Covers

Ambitious and successful timber importer Covers is protecting timber from the elements at its latest site in Hilsea, near Portsmouth with a new rack supported storage shed from Hi-Store.

Covers operates from 10 sites in southern England and has its headquarters in Chichester. The Hilsea operation has been established on a brownfield site within easy access of the M27 motorway but its proximity to the sea means a somewhat  hostile environment for the steelwork in Hi-Store's flexible building and racking system.

Outside galvanised cantilever rackingcomponents have been used, inside powder coating provides the necessary protection.

First quality, dry timber is racked inside on infinitely adjustable cantilever arms locked to the vertical pillars, which also support the building's walls and roof. This provides quick and easy access by mechanical handling systems and is faster, more efficient and easier to manage than bulk stacking. Timber that can be stored stored outside is racked on similar, fully adjustable arms attached to the outside face of the building.

Both customers and management are delighted with the new facility and look forward to many years of good working service.
